A: LCMS is a denomination of which Immanuel Lutheran is a part. In all, the LCMS has nearly 2 million baptized members in more than 6,000 congregations and some 9,000 pastors. Counting seminaries, colleges/universities and parochial schools, the LCMS congregations operate the largest Protestant parochial school system in America. Q: Who is the typical member at Immanuel Lutheran?
A: Immanuel Lutheran Church & School welcomes all, and our congregation reflects that. We have a diverse range in age, from young families to retired adults and single people, with no single dominant group.
Q: What are the service worship times?
A: Our current worship schedule is:
- Saturday: 6:00 pm
- Sunday: 8:00 am and 10:45 am
- Sunday Bible Study: 9:30 am
- Sunday School: 9:30 am
We also offer online church services.
Q: What are services like?
A: At Immanuel Lutheran, we worship Jesus in a traditional style, with prayer, singing and an overall sense of belonging and community.
A: In general, no, but most people dress in business casual attire.
Q: I’m thinking about joining Immanuel Lutheran and/or converting to Lutheranism. What do I need to do?
A: First, join us for a service. If you don’t have a Lutheran background, you will need to take Adult Instruction courses to help you learn more about the faith teachings and the church in general.
Q: When are New Member classes?
A: We typically offer three classes each year in the fall, winter, and spring. Each class runs over a 10-week period. At the end of the course, participants will be invited to join Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Q: In what ways do members connect outside of church services?
A: We offer a number of organizations for members to join, along with Bible study groups, choir, and community service projects. We also have annual events like Vacation Bible School, a concert and speaker series, and more. There is something for everyone at Immanuel Lutheran.
